A grrrrreat weekend!

We have been friends for over 2 decades and have seen (literally) the birth of many children!!

What a great weekend! When asked what I wanted for my birthday, it was to spend time with friends and family. Sadly, not all of my friends were able to fit in the hotel room but our good friends, Dan and Jenn with kids Gabe, Josh and Ethan were the ones that I wouldn't want to spend a birthday without.

We headed up to Whistler on Thursday evening and checked into Legends on Creekside. We had both gotten 2 bedroom suites so all of the kids were happy. The kids immediately wanted to head to the pool and check it out!

Our morning on Friday was sad...it was pouring rain, but we are true west coasters so off to the village for shopping and lunch we went! We had decided that our tummies were still too full for lunch so we headed to the Grocery Store and picked up junk food, everyone got their own bag of chips, pop and chocolate bar!! Our evening saw us at the Sachi Sushi for dinner, a nice spot in the Tammy (or something like that!) room sitting on little cushions. Dinner was great and the kids were having a great time reconnecting. We got the kids settled at home and stopped over at Dusty's bar for the Canucks game, great to see a win!!

Morning was lovely, sun, warm, and blue skies. We ate our breaky, all together and then headed off for the village again. We managed to find a large pile of snow, go figure, and the kids and men enjoyed some snowballs and sliding down the mound. With very wet bumms we headed to The Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch and then we headed back for swimming and quiet time (is that possible with 5 kids??).

The adults got all dressed up and went to the Bearfoot Bistro for dinner. It is undoubtedly one of my fav restaurants of all time. We had a great dinner of the Chefs tasting menu with my favorite addition....ready for this?? My fav there is their Fois Gras with a glass of Brandenburg No. 3 from Venturi-Schulze winery. I was so excited and it was fabulous!!

Our evening converstation ranged from every angle of life and it was great to spend time reconnecting with dear friends.

Today, on our way home we stopped at Shannon Falls just south of Squamish for a hike and a chance to be in awe of our beautiful British Columbia!

The Langs (without Emma) were with us so I thought I would add this picture just so you can see how gosh darn cute she is!!!!

Thank you Langs for making this birthday the bestest ever!!
